A Christmas Story

POLITICALLY CORRECT CHRISTMAS STORY

How to live in a world that's politically correct?
His workers no longer would answer to "Elves".
"Vertically Challenged" they were calling themselves.
And labour conditions at the North Pole
were alleged by the union to stifle the soul.

Four reindeer had vanished, without much propriety,
Released to the wilds by the Humane Society.
And equal employment had made it quite clear
That Santa had better not use just reindeer.
So Dancer and Donner, Comet and Cupid
Were replaced with 4 pigs, and you know that looked stupid!

The runners had been removed from his sleigh;
The ruts were termed dangerous by the E.P.A.
And people had started to call for the cops
When they heard sled noises on their rooftops.
Second-hand smoke from his pipe had his workers quite frightened.
His fur trimmed red suit was called "Unenlightened."

And to show you the strangeness of life's ebbs and flows,
Rudolf was suing over unauthorised use of his nose
And had gone on Geraldo, in front of the nation,
Demanding millions in over-due compensation.
So, half of the reindeer were gone; and his wife,
Who suddenly said she'd enough of this life,

Joined a self-help group, packed, and left in a whiz,
Demanding from now on her title was Ms.
And as for the gifts, why, he'd never had a notion
That making a choice could cause so much commotion.
Nothing of leather, nothing of fur,
Which meant nothing for him. And nothing for her.

Nothing that might be construed to pollute.
Nothing to aim, Nothing to shoot.
Nothing that clamoured or made lots of noise.
Nothing for just girls, or just for the boys.
Nothing that claimed to be gender specific.
Nothing that's warlike or non-pacifistic.

No candy or sweets...they were bad for the tooth.
Nothing that seemed to embellish a truth.
And fairy tales, while not yet forbidden,
Were like Ken and Barbie, better off hidden.
For they raised the hackles of those psychological
Who claimed the only good gift was one ecological.

No baseball, no football...someone could get hurt;
Besides, playing sports exposed kids to dirt.
Dolls were said to be sexist, and should be passe;
And Nintendo would rot your entire brain away.
So Santa just stood there, dishevelled, perplexed;
He just could not figure out what to do next.

He tried to be merry, tried to be gay,
But you've got to be careful with that word today.
His sack was quite empty, limp to the ground;
Nothing fully acceptable was to be found.
Something special was needed, a gift that he might
Give to all without angering the left or the right.

A gift that would satisfy, with no indecision,
Each group of people, every religion;
Every ethnicity, every hue,
Everyone, everywhere...even you.
So here is that gift, it's price beyond worth...
May you and your loved ones, enjoy peace on Earth.

Parenting Advice

You can let your children live in a big house, eat a good meal, watch a big screen TV. But when you are cutting grass, please let them experience it. After a meal, let them wash their plates and bowls together with their brothers and sisters. It is not because you do not have money to hire a maid, you want them to understand, no matter how rich their parents are, one day their hair will grow gray, same as the mother of that young person. The most important thing is your children learn how to appreciate the effort and experience the difficulty and learn how to work with others to get things done.

Hirobo One-Man Electric Helicopter

This helicopter can travel at the speed of 100km/h. Because of electric engine this one-seater chopper doesn’t produce any noise or pollution. It can take flight for only 30 minutes which means the technology still needs improvements so that one day we’ll be to use it as personal flying-rides. Besides that it still can be used to supply medicines and food in disastrous situations.

Confirmed: The world is not ending on Dec. 21, 2012

It's already Dec. 21, 2012 in New Zealand and Australia ... and all seems well.

Unless we hear reports that those countries (and whatever else happens to share timezones with them) dropped off the face of the Internet, I think it's reasonably safe to say that — Mayan calendar mysteries aside — the world's not ending on this particular date.

But ... just for fun, let's talk about what we would've done had we known for certain that the world was coming to an end on Dec. 21, 2012. I would be doing exactly what I'm doing right now — heading to Florida to visit my parents, the most important people in my life. How about you? Would you seek out loved ones? Make confessions? Go crazy?

Facebook to launch teen sexting app.

Facebook reportedly plans to launch a direct competitor to Snapchat.

Snapchat is a phone app that lets users send a picture that self-destructs after a few seconds. It can be used for legit purposes, but mostly it's used by teenagers for sending inappropriate pictures -- without getting grounded.

Snapchat is not about sexting. It's about getting away with sexting.

The app is massively popular among high school students and Anthony Weiner types, and Facebook wants a piece of the action. Allegedly.

Twas the Night Before Christmas

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house

not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,

in hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there.

The children were nestled all snug in their beds,

while visions of sugar plums danced in their heads.

And Mama in her 'kerchief, and I in my cap,

had just settled our brains for a long winter's nap.

When out on the roof there arose such a clatter,

I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter.

Away to the window I flew like a flash,

tore open the shutter, and threw up the sash.

The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow

gave the lustre of midday to objects below,

when, what to my wondering eyes should appear,

but a miniature sleigh and eight tiny reindeer.

With a little old driver, so lively and quick,

I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick.

More rapid than eagles, his coursers they came,

and he whistled and shouted and called them by name:

"Now Dasher! Now Dancer!

Now, Prancer and Vixen!

On, Comet! On, Cupid!

On, Donner and Blitzen!

To the top of the porch!

To the top of the wall!

Now dash away! Dash away!

Dash away all!"

As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,

when they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky

so up to the house-top the coursers they flew,

with the sleigh full of toys, and St. Nicholas too.

And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof

the prancing and pawing of each little hoof.

As I drew in my head and was turning around,

down the chimney St. Nicholas came with a bound.

He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,

and his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot.

A bundle of toys he had flung on his back,

and he looked like a peddler just opening his pack.

His eyes--how they twinkled! His dimples, how merry!

His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!

His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,

and the beard on his chin was as white as the snow.

The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,

and the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath.

He had a broad face and a little round belly,

that shook when he laughed, like a bowl full of jelly.

He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,

and I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself.

A wink of his eye and a twist of his head

soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread.

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,

and filled all the stockings, then turned with a jerk.

And laying his finger aside of his nose,

and giving a nod, up the chimney he rose.

He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,

And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.

But I heard him exclaim, 'ere he drove out of sight,
"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night!"

Slide Rock State Park

"This park is named after the famous Slide Rock, a stretch of slippery creek bottom adjacent to the Frank Pendley homestead; a 43-acre historic apple farm located in Oak Creek Canyon, Az. Visitors may slide down a slick natural water chute or wade and sun along the creek."

My wife and I took our son here the last time we were in Sedona, Az.  Overall the park was fun, but it was a very muggy and humid day to be hiking in this area.  By the end of the day, we had hiked about 8 miles and needless to say, we were sweating bullets.  I captured this three shot HDR, handheld, since I didn't bring my tripod on our hike.

Audi E Tron Spyder

The Audi e-tron Spyder is being dubbed as a diesel-electric roadster, a pairing of active descriptors that further prove the advancement in automotive ingenuity. At first glance this may appear like merely a roofless, R8-based all-electric e-tron that was unveiled in Frankfurt in 2009.  Rather, this is a longer and wider inclination that still features the plug-in diesel-electric powertrain. The 69-cell lithium-ion battery pack is good for 9.1-kilowatt hours, weighs around 220 pounds and is situated up front together with the electric motors.

What does it mean to be human?

The search for meaning in one’s life is one of the most complex and scariest questions that an able-minded human can approach. It is a humbling quest for self-examination and introspection at a level that only mature minds can handle. It is, however, a responsibility that consciousness has bestowed upon us.

Apathy has struck Western civilization’s quest to fulfill this responsibility. We see it in our bodies. We see it in our minds. We see it in our love. Individuals have no inherent responsibility towards their world, because they do not understand their own place within it. This is due in part to our individual duties as humans being disregarded for things like materialism and other empty quests that can never be truly fulfilled. We have stopped looking for who we are and should be, because we are too busy thinking about who we would like to be.

As a species, we have the biological responsibility to reproduce and continue the circle of life. No other species on Earth has ever had the cognitive ability to realize this fact, apart from a base instinct hidden within them over billions of years. Consciousness is one of the greatest gifts of evolution. It has allowed us not only become the reigning species on our beautiful planet, but more importantly to realize that we are actually at the helm.

To compare, let’s imagine being a dinosaur on top of the food chain. Apart from the instinct to eat and to reproduce, life for a dinosaur was most likely an empty pursuit for the next day. They lacked the “je ne sais quoi” that allowed consciousness to wake up within our minds, a uniquely human attribute that elevates us within cosmic kingdom.

Coincidentally, we are the only species to have developed a belief in a higher power. This was an important gap-filler as we did not (and still don’t really) understand how that consciousness awoke. Even today, many individuals get highly defensive when this evolutionary blanket is called out for exactly what it is.

That, in and of itself, is not worthy of scorn. The great Space Priests like Carl Sagan understood that scorning this was not the way to improve our species. The key is through education and exploration of our own consciousness.

Unfortunately, although we are in a time of great technological advancement, our spiritual endeavours have been blockaded by the apathy that has struck the late 20th and early 21st centuries. This is but a bump in the great development of one of the most beautiful stories in the universe. The story of humans. Our story. Your story.

We face many challenges today, from the obvious physical problems related to obesity due to a number of environmental factors for which humans were not ready, to hate and violence by a number of extremists around the world who are not comfortable with where the global consciousness is going.

Being human means to accept that we live within this reality. Our minds are a product of biology, also within this reality, and ultimately the entire story of how we ended up here will be mapped. It is the responsibility of today’s philosophers to help people understand why we are special in the universe. Religion gives humans a special place within the cosmos, and it is true. We are special. However, it should be our quest to find out why we are special.

To accept stories that are millennia of years old contain the ultimate answers to life, the universe and everything, is disingenuous to the work of every human that has helped us arrive where we are today. It is our responsibility, as humans, to continue the search for our tiny place within the never-ending cosmos that surrounds us.

That is what it means to be human. The search for meaning in our own lives, and the lives of everyone who surrounds us is the most important spiritual endeavour that humans must undertake to achieve self-actualization. Petty fights and shiny things are a product of our imperfections.

Humans are not perfect creatures. This is the root of the quest for meaning, as it gives us direction for how to improve. Of course, the top of the perfection pyramid is something we will never reach. However, it is possible to aim as high as the best human you can imagine.

The twenty first century is seeing a revival of the spiritual awakening that slowed down during the era of two massive world wars. Again, these were the product of our imperfections and a chain of unfortunate events. But this randomness, although it can lead to terrible evil, has led to where we are today. The amazing heights that humanity increases daily are also a product of this wonderful randomness in our universe.

Even though we don’t quite know yet how come our minds woke up, or how abiogenesis happened, it is part of our responsibility as a product of this randomness to find out. Historical texts like the Bible are important parts of the story of humanity. However, we must continue to write our story and cannot allow the apathy that has crawled all around us to stop us in our tracks.

We are writing this story now. Everyone is part of it. What role do you want to play?

TRUE LOVE ..(A Doctor's note)

It was approximately 8.30 a.m. on a busy morning when an elderly gentleman in his eighties arrived to have stitches removed from his thumb. He stated that he was in a hurry as he had an appointment at 9.00 a.m.

I took his vital signs and had him take a seat. I knew it would take more than an hour before someone would to able to attend to him. I saw him check his watch anxi...ously for the time and decided to evaluate his wound since I was not busy with another patient.

On examination, the wound was well healed. Hence, I talked to one of the doctors to get the supplies to remove his sutures and redress his wound.

We began to engage in a conversation while I was taking care of his wound. I asked him if he had another doctor's appointment later as he was in such a hurry. The gentleman told me no and said that he needed to go to the nursing home to have breakfast with his wife.

I inquired about her health. He told me that she had been in the nursing home for a while as she was a victim of Alzheimer's disease. I probed further and asked if she would be upset if he was slightly late. He replied that she no longer knew who he was and she had not been able to recognize him since five years ago.
I asked him in surprise, "And you still go every morning, even though she doesn't know who you are?"
He smiled as he patted my hand and said, "She doesn't know me, but I still know who she is."

I had to hold back my tears as he left.
I had goose bumps on my arm, and I thought, "That is the kind of love I want in my life."

True love is neither physical nor romantic. True love is an acceptance of all that is, has been, will be, and will not be.Collapse this post..Must Read n share :)

Facts About The Color Green!

The color green signifies nature, life, youth, safety and hope. Green is the second most favorite color – blue being the first. Green represents ‘go’ in traffic signals, railway signals and ship signals. It is known as a safe color worldwide which is why first-aid equipment is often green . Fire escape exit signs are green in most countries, although some are red. Green is the color used for night vision goggles because the human eye is most sensitive and able to distinguish the most shades in that color. The color green is often used as a symbol of sickness, you’ll most likely have noticed this in
cartoons; the character often has a green face when being sick. In North American stock markets, green is used to indicate a rise in stock prices, however In East Asian stock markets, green indicates a drop in stock prices.

Green has long been a symbol of fertility and was once the preferred color choice for wedding gowns in the 1400’s. Green wallpapers look really cool.

Before the 1950's Santa's suit was originally green until Coca-Cola bought him out and changed his suit to red . In high schools in the United States during the 1960s, it was believed that if someone wore green on Thursdays, it meant that they were gay.

Green is the national color of Ireland. Green was a sacred color to the Egyptians representing the hope and joy of spring. The floors of the temples were green .

Suicides dropped by 34% when London's Black friar Bridge was painted green

World's Largest Liger (Lion+Tiger)

you Know what's a Liger? It's a cross breed of a male Lion and female Tiger
10ft Liger who's still growing... He looks like something from a prehistoric age or a fantastic creation from Hollywood . But Hercules is very much living flesh and blood - as he proves every time he opens his gigantic mouth to roar. Part lion, part tiger, he is not just a big cat but a huge one, standing 10ft tall on his back legs. Called a liger, in reference to his crossbreed parentage, he is the largest of all the cat species. On a typical day he will devour 20lb of meat, usually beef or chicken, and is capable of eating 100lb at a single setting. At just three years old, Hercules already weighs half a ton.
He is the accidental result of two enormous big cats living close together at the Institute of Greatly Endangered and Rare Species, in Miami, Florida , and already dwarfs both his parents. "Ligers are not something we planned on having," said institute owner Dr Bhagavan Antle. "We have lions and tigers living together in large enclosures and at first we had no idea how well one of the lion boys was getting along with a tiger girl, then loo and behold we had a liger."
50mph runner... Not only that, but he likes to swim, a feat unheard of among water-fearing lions. In the wild it is virtually impossible for lions and tigers to mate. Not only are they enemies likely to kill one another, but most lions are in Africa and most tigers in Asia . But incredible though he is, Hercules is not unique. Ligers have been bred in captivity, deliberately and accidentally, since shortly before World War II.
Today there are believed to be a handful of ligers around the world and a similar number of tigons, the product of a tiger father and lion mother. Tigons are smaller than ligers and take on more physical characteristics of the tiger.

BMW Vision ConnectedDrive

A concept vehicle created for furnishing occupants with a highly sensual driving experience, the BMW Vision ConnectedDrive promotes a heavily intuitive electronic connection to the world. For the driver, the BMW Vision ConnectedDrive avails an advanced heads-up display that can be programmed with a rich assortment of driving data.

There may have been a lot of buzz over V12 powered supercars and the next best thing to break 200mph on an average road, but BMW has gone a different route. The BMW Vision ConnectedDrive has made its debut at the Geneva Motor Show and is showcasing all of the technology BMW has been developing and will be integrating into future cars. Just by looking at this concept it is easy to tell that it will
never make it to production in this form, but many of the technologies and ideas found within could be coming out sooner than you think.

Official BMW representatives said: "In 2011 the automobile industry is celebrating the anniversary "125 yeas of the automobile," reason enough to not only look back, but also to look forward. Connectivity is one of the key fields of tomorrow’s world. And of course, we at BMW are proud to be among the pioneers of connected driving: for example, with the first on-board internet access in 2008, the first iPod integration in 2004, or the first ultrasound-based park distance control PDC in 1991."

"2011 is also the year in which we are setting course for the future. Initial insights are already available to you now in the Future Lab from BMW Vision ConnectedDrive. Or soon right here, with an extraordinary vehicle concept, which will once again revolutionize driving in terms of comfort, infotainment and safety. Exactly as you have come to expect from BMW."

BMW’s leadership and constant technology contest with Mercedes-Benz has led them to develop some of the best and most intuitive systems in production cars today. This concept shows how the future may render itself in the automotive realm. In a world where your car is as good or better than your office at getting things done – this is place where the ConnectDrive lives.

Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness.

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, he wordlessly picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full.. The students responded with a unanimous ‘yes.’

The professor then produced two Beers from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed..

‘Now,’ said the professor as the laughter subsided, ‘I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things—-your family, your children, your health, your friends and your favorite passions—-and if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full. The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house and your car.. The sand is everything else—-the small stuff.

‘If you put the sand into the jar first,’ he continued, ‘there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life.

If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff you will never have room for the things that are important to you.

Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness.

Spend time with your children. Spend time with your parents. Visit with grandparents. Take your spouse out to dinner. Play another 18. There will always be time to clean the house and mow the lawn.

Take care of the golf balls first—-the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the Beer represented. The professor smiled and said, ‘I’m glad you asked.’ The Beer just shows you that no matter how full your life may seem, there’s always room for a couple of Beers with a friend.

iPad mini

Have you heard of the new iPad Mini from Apple? The latest device to be a bit smaller than the iPad but a bit larger than the iPone 5.
The new iPad Mini will have a screen-size of 7.85": slightly larger than a Kindle Fire, but still packing a decent screen-size in comparison to the normal iPads.
A beautiful screen, powerful A5 chip, FaceTime and iSight cameras, amazing apps, and 10-hour battery life, make iPad mini every inch an iPad.
Just finished up ordering the new "Kindle Fire HD 8.9" along with the family's Christmas presents today! It was hard to choose between the iPad-Mini or the Kindle Fire so in the end we wanted to try something new since we already have the iPhone 4S! we wonder how well the Kindle Fire will compare to iPad? we guess I'll find out soon enough!
iPad holders are awesome!
Would you buy a holder for the iPad mini?

WAR AGAINST RACISM

War AGAINST RACISM

This happened on TAM airlines.

A 50-something year old white woman arrived at her seat and saw that the passenger next to her was a black man.

Visibly furious, she called the air hostess.

"What's the problem, ma?" the hostess asked her

"Can't you see?" the lady said - "I was given a seat next to a black man. I can't seat here next to him. You have to change my seat"

- "Please, calm down, ma" - said the hostess
"Unfortunately, all the seats are occupied, but I'm still going to check if we have any."

The hostess left and returned some minutes later.

"Madam, as I told you, there isn't any empty seat in this class- economy class.
But I spoke to the captain and he confirmed that there isn't any empty seats in the economy class. We only have seats in the first class."

And before the woman said anything, the hostess continued

"Look, it is unusual for our company to allow a passenger from the economy class change to the first class.
However, given the circumstances, the commandant thinks that it would be a scandal to make a passenger travel sat next to an unpleasant person."

And turning to the black man, the hostess said:

"Which means, Sir, if you would be so nice to pack your handbag, we have reserved you a seat in the first class..."

And all the passengers nearby, who were shocked to see the scene started applauding, some standing on their feet."

Sphinx Destruction

If we had a real President instead of a Mongrel Obama this would not happen. We need to completely destroy the (moose so loon) world. These people are the pigs of Satan make no doubt about it. The Mongrel Obama is one of them. He was raised in this pig shit religion. Weeks after the Muslim Brotherhood's Mohamed Morsi entered office as Egyptian President, calls began to rise for the destruction of those "symbols of paganism" -- the Egyptian Pyramids.

That was in late June and early July, but following last week's U.S. presidential election, Islamic clerics again demanded the destruction of one of the Seven Wonders of the World.

Murgan Salem al-Gohary, a jihadist leader with ties to the Taliban, called for the "destruction of the Sphinx and the Giza Pyramids in Egypt." Gohary said "all Muslims are charged with applying the teachings of Islam to remove such idols." More moderate voices within Egypt are trying to counter Gohary, but it's doubtful how successful they will be when considering the actions of Islamic fundamentalists in other countries. Earlier in 2012, Mali Islamists blew up centuries-old mausoleums of "Sufi-Muslim saints in the city of Timbuktu." In 2001, "the Taliban dynamited the 6th-century A.D. statues of Buddha carved into a cliff at Bamiyan in Afghanistan."

IT IS NOT AN IDOL BUT CONTAINS THE HIDDEN WISDOM OF MERE MAN REALIZING HIS DIVINE SPIRIT (THE KINGDOM OF GOD IN HIM) AND RAISING THE HOLY SPIRIT FROM AN ANIMAL ANTURE INTO A GOD NATURE. PEOPLE ARE LOST THRU MODERN INTERPERTATIONS OF MODERN RELIGION.

facebook obama slur

A woman has been fired and reported to the U.S. Secret Service for a racial slur and apparent assassination threat against President Barack Obama on Facebook. According to California's Modesto Bee, Denise Helms, 22, went OFF on the social networking site after Obama won reelection over Mitt Romney Tuesday.
She called Obama the n-word, adding that "maybe he will be assassinated".

WTF!!! Some chick in California puts a racial slur on her facebook page and threatens to kill Obama and the secret service are knocking on here front door. People threaten to kill Romney if he would have won the election and nothing  happens. Don't believe me Assholes.

ashamed beyond words of certain people in this country. it's disgusting and just disrespectful...get over yourselves and stop embarrassing the entire human race with your existence!

She used a racial slur on Twitter AND then agreed to be interviewed on public television to defend herself. She must not be aware, or must be ignorant to the fact that she is a huge bigot and that she is not only hurting herself with her words and actions but is also hurting herself.

This is really what it has come down too with the corrupt government that we have. You say something negative about the President, you lose your job and you get reported to secret service. That is a direct violation of the United States constitution and the 1st amendment. Welcome to this totalitarian police state we live in.

Not even into politics..... but this has to be one of the dumbest women in captivity .

Michelle Duggar hair

This is so much more flattering and you look so much fresher and younger. Goood Job.It's amazing what a hair change can do.
It'll admit that I can be very judgemental about the Duggars. But one thing I won't judge is Michelle Duggar's hair. Being that we are somewhat hair-inept myself (don't know how to do my own hair, or anyone else's), we can totally understand wanting to stick with the same style you've had for ages. we do like her "makeover hair" better, though (probably because it looks more like mine, ha ha!)

tater to casserole in the oven! thanks Duggars and Michelle duggar, Love the new hair do!

we guess we don't understand pop culture. With everything going on in the world right now, why is the fact Michelle Duggar cut 8 inches off her hair actually making the news? It mean, MAYBE if she wanted to do something good, she could have donated to Locks of Love, instead, and actually done something that would encourage others to do a good thing too, but no... she just chopped off her hair and it makes the news. Why?

Michelle, actually think it is because people feel so powerless to affect the major issues. Anything important feels out of their reach, and the media encourages that, in my opinion. People focus on unimportant things because at least it doesn't feel like they should be doing something about them.

we can actually see that. Honestly, that is the first time that this 'weirdness' makes sense. Perhaps you're right. Because the very reason I don't watch news or politics is because I feel powerless, and so what's the point of just sitting there making myself feel bad... so I can see, something simple, mindless, might be appealing to some. Thank you.

single mom no tip

If your a single mom or dad and you do this you are a scumbag. I know there is no law stating you MUST tip your waiter/waitress but to leave NOTHING on a $140 check is being a straight up asshole move.
Just... wow. Working in the field where we rely on tips to live, this sickens me people can even DO this. I dont think some people realize tips arent EXTRA money... we make HALF of minimum wage, we RELY on tips to live. People are so stupid, and if anyone has ever stiffed a waiter or waitress for any reason, whether the service was horrible or whatever, you deserve to be bitchslapped.
Personally, I think this is a ticket picked up off the floor and filled out so someone could yank our chain. If it is real, then if she could afford a $135 tab she could afford a tip. But to stiff a hard working waitperson on a $26 or more tip is chicken shit. I was a single mom for over 10 years and would NEVER have done this. No class.

I have no patience for people who do not tip. If you cannot afford to properly tip, then you cannot afford to eat out. I do not buy the claim that you are helping the economy, or any other lame excuses for stealing. Waiters and waitresses lower themselves to servant status. The least you can do is pay for the service rendered. Pay the people who work for you or stay home. This photo may or may not be real, but what is real is too many people not properly paying those in service sector.

Odd how tipping has to subsidize third world wages in the US....I'm sure that waiting tables is a godawful job. They ought to make a decent hourly wage but they don't without tips. If you can't afford the tip, you can't afford the meal. It's like the fundie assholes who like to leave religious pamphlets instead of tips, and congratulate themselves on saving money and souls at the same time. Assholery isn't limited to one kind of person. This has way more to do with the feeling of entitlement, rather than the actual tipping issue. Why not "I'm a gay man. Sorry, no tip." "I'm retired. Sorry, no tip." "I had to fill my tank with gas. Sorry, no tip." "I had to pay my rent. Sorry, no tip." "I had to pay for my dinner. Sorry, no tip."

Sadly, there are a group of people who believe that tipping a server is not right and that they should be paid a decent wage. I agree but the fact is that they work so very hard for their money and almost always for minimum wage. Anyone who can afford $138 for a meal can afford at least a 10% tip.
Another view to this could be that the single mom who ran that $138 bill up spent that money on all the kids and herself which still is a rather high bill but maybe she has a lot of kids. Still, a tip would've been the respectful gesture. Realistically though, this definitely wasn't taking the kids to McDonald's (LOL)

HMS Bounty

The HMS Bounty is one of the most famous ships in the world. Known for the storied mutiny that took place in Tahiti in 1789 on board the British transport vessel, the current Bounty, a replica, has survived to tell the tale. Built for the 1962 movie “Mutiny on the Bounty” with Marlon Brando, HMS Bounty sails the country offering dockside tours in which one can learn about the history and details of sailing vessels from a lost and romanticized time in maritime history. Since her debut in “Mutiny on the Bounty”, HMS Bounty has appeared in many documentaries and featured films such as the Edinburgh Trader in Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Mans Chest with Johnny Depp.
Spawned from a fascinating dinner conversation with a dear friend, we seek to unite Scholars of the HMS Bounty to trade geekery and information.... Hopefully over cocktails in fine establishments with wood paneling somewhere along the Barbary Coast (thats San Francisco to you).
A lot of ships have gotten caught out in the storm. Protocol is to head to sea. One of my husband's ships, Explorer of the Seas is going to have to ride it out in the Atlantic, with all the passengers. But in the case of the Bounty, they were out by cape Hatteras.

Twin Peaks: The Complete Series

Twin Peaks lived in its own bizarre, dark, amazing, fantasy world, fresh from the mind of creator David Lynch. The extra features on this Gold Box edition (which includes both seasons and the long-awaited pilot) intend to draw you into the milieu surrounding the world of the story, and offer you a glimpse into the gestation and making of the show, while gently poking fun at itself. To quote Lynch
at the beginning of A Slice of David Lynch, "This is the strangest damn thing." He's referring to the act of sitting on a set in Los Angeles, drinking coffee and eating cherry pie with cast members Madchen Amick, Kyle MacLachlan, and personal assistant John Wentworth years after the show ended. But he may as well have also been referring to the show itself, and to the enormous popular phenomenon it accidentally became. As can be inferred from the title, A Slice of Lynch is a glimpse inside the creative mind of Lynch through his interactions with his old stars and assistant, and watching this, you can't help but understand that Lynch operates on a different plain from normal humanity, and his artistic process, while often befuddling, yields incredibly original results to a degree that almost boggles the mind; happy accidents seem to stem from almost every artistic decision he makes. The strength of this feature is that it makes it clear that the world of Twin Peaks really existed, it just happened to live in the minds of David Lynch and co-writer Mark Frost. Twin Peaks Festival is almost an afterthought, it doesn't fit with the rest of the features in depth or insight, but curious fans will get a kick out of seeing what happens when the most rabid, hardcore Twin Peaks gather in the Northwest--on the sights of many of the show's scenes--for a fan festival that beats the heck out of any Star Trek convention. Secrets from Another Place: Creating Twin Peaks offers a meaty, four-part look into how the show came about, the filming of both seasons, and the creation of the music by composer Angelo Badalamenti and singer Julee Cruise. Black Lodge Archive features six different items ranging from the "Falling" music video to bumpers and galleries that don't do much to offer insight into the show, but they offer an unexpected, added bonus: watching Agent Cooper hawk Georgia Coffee in ads that aired only in Japan. They are quite possibly more hilarious and bizarre than anything in the show itself. The features do a great job of reminding an old audience, and explaining to a new one, why the show had such a devoted following. To quote one actress from the show: "It was unique, it came at a time when television was boring... there was nothing else like it on television." --Daniel Vancini.

If you are a Dog : A very loyal and sweet person. Your loyalty can never be

doubted. You are quite honest and sincere when it comes to your attitude

towards working. You are a very simple person, indeed. Absolutely hassle free,

humble and down-to-earth! ! That explains the reason why your friends cling on to

you!

You have a good taste for clothes. If your wardrobe is not updated with what

is trendy, you sure are depressed. Popular and easy-going. You have a little

group of dignified friends, all of them being quality-personified .

If you are a Mouse : Always up to some sort of a mischief! The mischievous

gleam in your eyes is what makes you so cute and attractive to everyone. You are

an extremely fun-to-be-with kind of person. No wonder people seek for your

company and look forward to include you for all get-together' s. However, you are

sensitive which is a drawback. People need to select their words while

talking to you. If someone tries to fiddle around and play with words while dealing

with you, it is enough to invite your wrath. God bless the person then!

If you are a Lion: Quite contradictory to your name, you are a peace loving

person. You best try to avoid a situation wherein you are required to fight.

An outdoor person, you dislike sitting at one place for a long duration. You

are a born leader, and have it in you how to tactfully derive work from people.

You love being loved, and when you receive your share of limelight from someone,

you are all theirs!!!! Well, well... hence some people could even take an

advantage, flatter you to the maximum and get their work done. So be careful.....

If you are a Cat : An extremely lovable, adorable person, sometimes shy,

with a passion for quick wit. At times, you prefer quietness. You love exploring

various things and going into depth of each thing. Under normal

circumstances you're cool but when given a reason to, you are like a volcano waiting to

erupt.

You're a fashion bird. People look forward to you as an icon associated with

fashion. Basically, you mingle along freely but don't like talking much to

strangers. People feel very easy in your company. You observe care in

choosing your friends.

If you are a Turtle : You are near to perfect and nice at heart. The

examples of your kindness are always circulated in groups of people. You, too, love

peace.

You wouldn't like to retaliate even to a person who is in the wrong. You are

loved due to this. You do not wish to talk behind one's back. People love

the way you always treat them. You can give, give and give love, and the best

part is that you do not expect it back in return. You are generous enough. Seeing

things in a practical light is what remains the best trait of you guys.

If you are a Dove : You symbolize a very happy-go-lucky approach in life.

Whatever the surroundings may be, grim or cheerful, you remain unaffected.

In

fact, you spread cheer wherever you go. You are the leader of your group of

friends and good at consoling people in their times of need. You dislike

hypocrisy and tend to shirk away from hypocrites. They can never be in your

good books, no matter what. You are very methodical and organized in your work.

No amount of mess, hence, can ever encompass you. Beware, it is easy for you to

fall in love....

If you are a Panther : You are mysterious. You are someone who can handle

pressure with ease, and can handle any atmosphere without going berserk. You

can be mean at times, and love to gossip with your selected group. Very prim and

proper. You like all situations and things to be in the way you desire,

which, sometimes is not possible. As a result, you may lose out in some

relationships.

But otherwise, you love to help people out from difficult and tight spots

when they really need you.

If you are a Monkey : Very impatient and hyper!!! You want things to be done

as quick as possible. At heart, you are quite simple and love if you are the

center of attraction. That way, you people are unique. You would like to keep

yourself safe from all the angles. Shall your name be dragged or featured in any sort

of a controversy, you then go all panicky. Therefore, you take your precautions

from the very beginning. When you foresee anything wrong, your sixth sense

is what saves you from falling in traps. Quite a money minded bunch you people

are!!
