Anne Hathaway

Have to admit, The Dark Knight Rises was pretty good. I'm content with Anne Hathaway's portrayal, which... well, shocked me. Bane was very interesting. The voice was strange, but his words were absolutely magnetic.

Anne Hathaway was an AMAZING Catwoman... fit the role pretty damn well. I enjoyed their portrayal of the physical cost of being Batman. I enjoyed Bane...for the most part; there were one or two flaws that I won't say here, but he was mostly his comic counterpart. I also praise Nolan for keeping the promise that Robin isn't officially part of his movies...as a caped crusader. And for the cinematography. He took some scenes right out of the comics and I applaud it. The shots felt awesome and kind of dragged you into thinking of the comic feel to the movie even while you were supposed to feel some sort of sympathy for the characters.

It doesn't have the room to be subtle and if you're aware of plotline at all you catch the signs for how a lot is going to go pretty early. It isn't that it is disappointing, because even when you know, you don't know when or what other twists are going to happen in the next immediate second. That's the saving grace and, in a way, it's flaw. It kept moving so quickly that you didn't have time to think about the stuff that was obvious.

Just returned from seeing the fantastic THE DARK KNIGHT RISES movie OMFG couldn't stop being in the edge of my seat through out this flick!! Also, Anne Hathaway *claps* as Catwoman she proved me wrong along got me cheering for her during the movie I kid you not BTW oh she was F-I-N-E & then some ♥ ♥ !! of love for anne hathaway = not liking bain and his surprisingly calming weird voice thingy because he scares anne hathaway = thinking about bain's name = bain capital = mitt romney. that was my train of thought/actions at the movies today.

IT'S A SISTER THING: Your more vivid memories of your sister might involve shoe, sweater, and boyfriend stealing...... If your sister is in a tearing hurry to go out and won't catch your eye, she's wearing your best sweater.

If you don't understand how a woman could both love her sister dearly and want to wring her neck at the same time, then you didn't have a sister or were probably an only child.

Sisters never quite forgive each other for what happened when they were five.

This is a note to say "sorry" to you.

I borrowed your sweater and ruined it too.

It's not really my fault that grape juice can stain.

Though I should not have worn your silk out in the rain. Sisters annoy, interfere, criticize. Indulge in monumental sulks, in huffs, in snide remarks. Borrow. Break. Monopolize the bathroom. Are always underfoot. But if catastrophe should strike, sisters are there. Defending you against all comers.... ALWAYS!!!

Mariah Carey

The best-selling female artist of all time - whose eighteen #1 singles rival all but The Beatles - Mariah Carey has made an indelible impact on the global music industry and audiences everywhere. Blessed with a stunning five-octave range and signature vocal abilities, the singularly talented superstar continues to reach new heights of artistic growth and popularity. As a singer and songwriter, she has been recognized with five Grammy Awards, nine American Music Awards, Billboard's "Artist of the Decade" Award and the World Music Award for "World's Best Selling Female Artist of the Millennium," to name but a few honors.

Released in April 2005, The Emancipation of Mimi (Island Def Jam) strongly resonated with audiences, becoming that year's best-selling album in the U.S. and selling more than eight million units worldwide to date. While capturing three Grammys for Best Contemporary R&B Album, Best Female R&B Vocal Performance and Best R&B Song, Carey broke milestones with the album's three singles. "We Belong Together" (which spent an astonishing fourteen weeks at #1) and "Shake It Off" made her the only female artist ever to occupy the Billboard Hot 100's #1 and #2 spots in the same week. Her subsequent stand-alone single "Don't Forget About Us" became the biggest American radio hit of the year.

With a mother who shared both talent and a love of music, Mariah Carey was named after "They Call the Wind Mariah," a song from the popular Lerner and Loewe musical Paint Your Wagon. She began singing at the age of four, and her extraordinary and innate talent quickly progressed. As a young teenager she began honing her songwriting skills; upon high school graduation, Carey headed straight to New York to pursue a musical career. A luminous talent, her vocals were immediately in demand. Her major break came while singing backup for Brenda K. Starr, who gave her demo tape to then-Sony Music Entertainment Chief Tommy Mottola. Soon after, Mottola signed Carey to her first recording contract with Columbia Records.

With an angelic allure and a vocal intensity never heard before, Mariah Carey exploded upon the scene with the debut of her self-titled album in 1990. Mariah Carey was an immense hit, spawning an extraordinary four #1 singles: "Vision of Love," "Love Takes Time," "Someday" and "I Don't Wanna Cry." It also brought two Grammy Awards for Best New Artist and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance ("Vision of Love"). Carey continued her early success with a series of singles from her subsequent Emotions (1991) and MTV Unplugged (1992) albums that consistently placed her at the top of the charts.

With the 1993 release of Music Box, which included the chart-topping hit singles "Dreamlover" and "Hero," Mariah Carey produced her most commercially successful album to date, selling an astounding 30 million units. She hit a new milestone with a holiday album, Merry Christmas (1994), which contained the instant classic "All I Want for Christmas is You." The next year, with the release of Daydream (1995), its single "Fantasy" debuted at #1, making Mariah Carey the second artist in history and the first female performer to accomplish that feat. The album's other single, "One Sweet Day," recorded with Boyz II Men, stayed at the top of the charts for a mind-blowing sixteen weeks. She followed with the hip-hop and R&B-infused Butterfly, which introduced a new chapter in her career, teaming her with the hottest names in the music business including Sean Combs and Missy Elliott.

In 1998, eight years after her debut, Carey released #1's, a compilation of her chart-topping hits. The album also included a new song, "When You Believe" (from the film The Prince of Egypt), a duet with Whitney Houston that paired two of the most successful female recording artists in pop history. Rainbow followed in 1999 with startling success. With the album's first single, the popular "Heartbeaker," Carey became "the first artist to top the charts in each year of the 1990s; the record also pushed her ahead of The Beatles as the artist with the most cumulative weeks spent atop the Hot 100 singles chart," as affirmed by AllMusic.com. Mariah Carey subsequently sparked the interest of Universal Music Group's Island Def Jam Records, which signed her to an exclusive recording contract in May 2002. Later that year she made her label debut with the release of the multi-platinum Charmbracelet.

Evoking a nickname used by those closest to her, The Emancipation of Mimi marked Mariah Carey's tenth studio album with its release in April 2005. Entirely written and co-produced by Carey, and executive produced by Island Def Jam Music Group Chairman Antonio Reid, Mimi revealed an evolved musical sensibility in its tracks and a sophisticated new look on its cover. The album earned three Grammys from eight nominations across multiple categories, following a string of wins at the Vibe Awards, the American Music Awards and Billboard Music Awards.

Apart from her musical achievements, Mariah Carey has generously donated her time and energy to a range of philanthropic causes near to her heart. They include Save the Music, The National Adoption Center and The Make-A-Wish Foundation, which recently bestowed its 2006 Wish Icon Award upon her, permanently rechristening it the Mariah Carey Wish Icon Award. Her active involvement with the Fresh Air Fund resulted in Camp Mariah, the Fund's first camp named in honor of an individual. Through this prism, Mariah Carey's legacy transcends the music industry to leave an indelible imprint upon the world at large.

Relaxation & Meditation

Have you been wanting to start a practice of meditation? Or, do you have experience with meditation that you can share? Let's together discover a path of relaxation with each others support.

The practice of purification consists of contemplation on discriminating views. When the mind is still like calm water and there is an absence of false thinking, the Real Mind, which does not exist apart from false thinking, manifests. This water-without-waves sort of Mind is called The Realization of Purity.

Imagine a feeling of joy. You feel an opening in the top of your head. You feel joy floating in through the opening in the top of your head.

If feels up your head and neck. It fills your shoulders and arms. The joy floats down into your chest and your heart. You heart is so full of joy.

According to Tantric Yoga, chakras are centers of spiritual energy located in particular places in the human body and associated with different kinds of feelings and perceptions. The way to tap into them is taught in both Hinduism and Tibetan Buddhism. In this 5×7 ink drawing I have used non-traditional colors and numbers of petals...

Personal discovery: Meditating after eating a large meal is distracting and also uncomfortable. Make sure that you don't meditate right after a holiday feast :)

first row sports

The Seattle Sounders FC U-23 came up with what may be their biggest win of the year Friday night on the road. They beat the Kitsap Pumas and took a one point lead in the standings with just two home matches remaining on the regular season schedule. The 2-1 victory in Bremerton marked the first time in three matches that Seattle topped Kitsap. The Pumas opened scoring late in the first half by getting one past Sounders keeper Doug Herrick for a 1-0 lead in the 43rd minute. That goal snapped a two match shut out streak for the Seattle keeper and gave Kitsap a half time lead. The score remained that way until very late in the match. Seattle, who had one goal total in the first two matches with Kitsap, found the net in the 87th and 88th minutes for the win. The first Sounders marker came when DeAndre Yedlin put one in off a corner kick from Mauricio Diaz De Leon to tie the game. One minute later De Leon tried to knock down a pass from Jamael Cross in front of the Kitsap goal. It was deflected off Pumas defender Steve Mohn into the goal for the winning score. The win was Seattle's fourth in a row and one win in the last two matches will guarantee Seattle a first place finish in the division.

Chicago Heat Wave: Friday Will Likely Complete City's First Triad Of 100-Degree Days Since 1947 Posted: 07/06/2012 10:42 am Updated: 07/06/2012 12:57 pm The Chicago area is expected to see its third consecutive day of triple-digit temperatures Friday, a triad of scorchers only seen twice before in the city's history. The National Weather Service is forecasting a high of 103 degrees Friday, the same as the high temperature the city hit Thursday, ABC Chicago reports. The previous record high temperature for July 6 is 99 degrees, set in 1988. The highest temperature ever recorded in Chicago -- 105 degrees, set on July 24, 1934 -- could also be surpassed Friday. The heat has contributed to at least two deaths to date in Cook County, the Chicago Tribune reports, as the city prepares for its seventh consecutive day of 90-plus degree weather. An excessive heat warning for much of the Chicago area has been extended through 4 p.m. Saturday afternoon when a cooler front will move into the area, bringing with it some long-awaited relief. The heat led to the cancelation of all regularly scheduled Chicago Public Schools summer classes and sports activities Friday, NBC Chicago reports, marking for the second day in a row that CPS classes were canceled due to the weather.

The sweltering conditions have also contributed to roads buckling throughout the area, including one in Chicago's South Loop, the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Area residents are encouraged to check on their neighbors, especially the elderly and others susceptible to the extreme conditions. Those without air conditioning are urged to go to a cooling center -- such as a public library or police station -- to help them beat the heat. Chicago Heat Wave 2012

loss in a row overall and 10th straight on the road. It's Houston's first 10-game skid on the road since an 11-game losing streak from April 16-May 8, 2005. The Brewers are -139, Houston is +129, the total 8 1/2. What do you think about this one?

latex pillow

We chose latex mattresses covered in bamboo, atop a wooden slat base. Plantation eucalyptus fibre is woven into our mattress and pillow protectors. Our pillows are filled with either wool, or feather, with an option of a latex pillow below, for firmer neck support. Superloft wool duvets are encased in cotton covers and finally our french quilted bedspreads are 100% cotton both inside and out. It's no wonder our guests don't want to leave!

Components of an innerspring mattress Pocket springs A common innerspring mattress consists of three components: the spring core, the foundation, and the upholstery layers.[10] [edit]Spring mattress core The core of the mattress supports the sleeper’s body. Modern spring mattress cores, often called "innersprings," are made up of steel coil springs, or "coils." The gauge of the coils is another factor which determines firmness and support. Coils are measured in quarter increments. The lower the number, the thicker the spring. In general, higher-quality mattress coils have a 14-gauge (1.63 mm) diameter. Coils of 14 to 15.5-gauge (1.63 to 1.37 mm) give more easily under pressure, while a 12.5-gauge (1.94 mm) coil, the thickest typically available, feels quite firm. Connections between the coils help the mattress retain its shape. Most coils are connected by interconnecting wires; encased coils are not connected, but the fabric encasement helps preserve the mattress shape. Here are four types of mattress coils: Bonnell coils are the oldest and most common. First adapted from buggy seat springs of the 19th century, they are still prevalent in mid-priced mattresses. Bonnell springs are a knotted, round-top, hourglass-shaped steel wire coil. When laced together with cross wire helicals, these coils form the simplest innerspring unit, also referred to as a Bonnell unit. Marshall coils, also known in the industry as wrapped or encased or pocketed coils, are thin-gauge, barrel-shaped, knotless coils individually encased in fabric pockets—normally a fabric from man-made, nonwoven fiber. In the case of Beautyrest, high carbon magnesium is added, while the steel itself remains untempered. Some manufacturers precompress these coils, which makes the mattress firmer and allows for motion separation between the sides of the bed. Bonell springs Offset coils are an hourglass type coil on which portions of the top and bottom convolutions have been flattened. In assembling the innerspring unit, these flat segments of wire are hinged together with helical wires. The hinging effect of the unit is designed to conform to body shape. LFK coils are an unknotted offset coil with a cylindrical or columnar shape. Continuous coils (the Leggett & Platt brand name is Mira-coil) is an innerspring configuration in which the rows of coils are formed from a single piece of wire. They work in a hinging effect similar to that of offset coils. The bed coil spring was patented by Louis Andrew Vargha. [edit]Air mattresses Air mattresses use one or more air chambers instead of springs to provide support. Quality and price can range from inexpensive ones used occasionally for camping, all the way up to high-end luxury beds. Air mattresses designed for typical bedroom use cost about the same as inner-spring mattresses with comparable features. [edit]Air mattresses as regular beds Several companies currently produce adjustable firmness air mattresses. In 1981, Comfortaire began manufacturing and marketing an air bed that looked like a conventional inner spring bed, but allowed users to adjust the firmness. Select Comfort patented a variant and began marketing them in 1987. Today, Select Comfort produces the "Sleep Number" bed which, in some models and sizes, allows independent adjustment of each side of the bed for comfort and firmness. Adjustable air mattresses come in a variety of models from basic, no-frills ones that measure about 7" in height, to high-profile, 15" tall hybrids that contain several types of foam, pillow tops, and digital pumps with memory, for individual pressure settings. Air

bladder construction varies from a simple polyethylene bag to internally baffled, multiple chambers of latex (vulcanized rubber) or vinyl with bonded cotton exteriors.[11] Mattresses have a layer of foam above the air chambers for added cushioning. The air chambers, top and sidewall foam all sit inside a removable two piece cover that looks like the outside of a standard innerspring mattress. These high-end luxury air beds are also known as soft-sided air beds.
