Blue Moon 2012

Blue Moon 2012: August To Bring Two Full Moons, an Astronomical Rarity

The first of the two full moons occurs tonight (Aug. 1st). This will be a lunar preview for a "blue moon" rising at the end of Aug. The moon will reach its full phase at 11:27 p.m. EDT tonight (03:27 GMT on Aug. 2nd). It returns big and bright as a full blue moon, Aug 31st. Night sky observers won't have a chance to see two full moons in a single month again until July 2015.

August is the 8th month and holds an 8th numeric vibration. This number represents accomplishments and achievements in money, business, finance, and entrepreneurship. However, it’s best to wait until after August 8 and the passing of the Mercury Retrograde to enter into any financial or career changing endeavor.

August 2012 will feature not 1 but 2 full moons. The full moon occurs once every 29.5 days. This essentially means that there is one full moon every month. However, as we know, every month but February has at least 30 days in it, which presents the potential for two full moons in a month.

August 2012 - is one of these unique months, which will have two full moons. There will be a full moon on August 2nd, and then another full moon on August 31st.

So those of us whom are superstitious in regards to full moons will have two special days in August of 2012.

The term Blue Moon can refer to the second full moon in a given month. When people say "once in a blue moon" they are speaking to the rarity of the occurrence of a second moon happening in the same given month.

Wow!! This is exciting!! Right as so many changes are happening in this world... Things are getting crazy around here!! Once in a while we need to take a moment to just breathe, look up at the amazing night sky, and remember that everything will fall into place at the right time. Thanks for tagging! :)

Olympics 2012

London Olympics 2012 is quickly approaching and here is a place to find some great souvenirs for the Olympic events. The london 2012 olympics, when is the london 2012 olympics, paralympics, olympic events, summer olympic, olympic sports, the olympic torch, olympic video, dates for 2012 olympics,The London Olympics Opening Ceremony 2012 schedule kicks off at 9 p.m. London time (4 p.m ET) on Friday, July 27 and will be broadcast on NBC at 7 p.m. ET. It will run no more than three hours according to IOC executive director Gilbert Felli, ensured mysteriously by "some device to try to accelerate the march."

NBC's TV coverage in the United States begins at 7:30 p.m ET, after providing the option to watch live streaming online.

British director Danny Boyle, famous for classic films such as "Trainspotting," will join fellow acclaimed director Stephen Daldry to oversee the opening ceremonies, which have been named the "Isle of Wonder" as inspired by William Shakespeare's "The Tempest." The festivities will commence with the sound of the world's largest harmonically tuned bell. There are murmurs that Beatles bassist Paul McCartney will close out the opening ceremonies, though it is likely he will adhere to curfew after being cut off while performing with Bruce Springsteen at a pre-ceremony event. The ceremonies also will see Daniel Craig's James Bond and the queen of England.

Upon this Little ROCK, He will do great wonders. How else could this little island (147 miles x 50 miles, with a population of only 2,847,232) do so many things in sports? The one area of life that politics cannot corrupt. We compete and hold our own with the best of them these days on the Track against world powers like United States, Russia, Africa and the United Kingdom. One day we hope to get the politics right....with His help. "Out of Many One People".....!

"Radiation and rockets at the London Olympics you ask? Yes, more than 7,000 tons of radioactive debris pushed just to the side to build the Olympic stadium and anti-aircraft missIes anchored on the rooftops of private London residences. War games, military and private security forces patting down the throngs at a cost of £1 billion ($1.54 billion) just for “security” alone, this is the straw which has finally broken the camel’s back for my lifetime of Olympics watching."

Voula Papachristou

OLYMPICS OR POLITICAL CORRECTNESS SHOW? ATHENS, Greece (AP) — Triple jumper Voula Papachristou was expelled from Greece's Olympic team Wednesday for her comments on Twitter mocking African immigrants and expressing support for a far-right party. The Hellenic Olympic Committee said Wednesday that Papachristou had been excluded from the team "for statements contrary to the values and ideas of the Olympic movement." The political correctness police must be having a field day, again. And, since this olympian has been expelled - when will entire teams be expelled since the governments of the countries they represent are far greater offenders? Oh,,,, I see,,, not the best political move to make. How convenient, how selectively critical, how $^@#@&!!!

"RACISM HAS NO PLACE IN THE LONDON OLYMPICS": A Greek Triple jumper Voula Papachristou was expelled from Greece's Olympic team Wednesday for her comments on Twitter mocking African immigrants. Papachristou wrote: "With so many Africans in Greece, the West Nile mosquitoes will be getting home food!!!". Her tweet prompted thousands of negative comments that snowballed Wednesday. pressing support for a far-right party. Was curious as to what Voula Papachristou said that got her expelled; here's the infamous tweet: "With so many Africans in Greece… At least the West Nile mosquitoes will eat home made food!!!"

"with so many Africans in Greece, at least the West Nile mosquitos will be eating food from their own home." - Voula Papachristou, its funny!!

At Folsom Prison

Johnny Cash At Folsom Prison examines the most important day in the career of one of America’s foremost popular artists. It was January 1968, a year that would be saturated in violence and historical change. Cash’s 1968 concert at Folsom State Prison in California and the ensuing album became a symbol of the late 1960s and transformed his career. Drawing from rock photographer Jim Marshall’s stark images of that day, rare archival footage, as well as exclusive interviews with participants and observers, the film traces Cash’s rocky road that led to the concert and the torrent of stardom and political debate that came after it.

Johnny Cash at Folsom Prison remains one of the greatest live albums ever made, and the man himself one of America’s greatest troubadours and advocates for prison reform. Forty years later, the album still resonates today with a rawness and authenticity that few recordings have ever achieved. This film exposes a lesser known “Man in Black,” forever defined by darkness and light.

Awesome SONday at party in the park. Loved hearing the praise teams from Painesville Assembly, El Faro (did I spell it right?) and the Grove. Especially dug the Grove's worship version of "Folsom Prison Blues" since I'm a 'Billy and can pretty much 'Billy up any worship song. Ask anyone at LifeSPring.

History California Highway 1 has become a famous brand around the world, but California 1 was called several other names and numbers prior to 1964. When the road was first envisioned in the World War I era, California highways were referred to either by a highway name or by a "Route Number". The route numbers were used by state highway planners and the Legislature from 1915 until 1964, but were never posted on highways, referred to by the auto clubs or public, nor used on maps. The Highway 1 designation was first designated in 1939. Various portions of State Highway 1 have been posted and referred to by various names and numbers over the years. State construction of what became Highway 1 started after the state's third highway bond issue passed before 1910. Segments initially constructed Bixby Canyon Bridge under construction in 1932. Convict labor from Folsom Prison was paid 35 cents per day to help build the roadway.

One of the most difficult routes to build was along the Big Sur coast. The state first approved building Route 56, or the Carmel-San Simeon Highway,[10] to connect Big Sur to the rest of California in 1919. Federal funds were appropriated and in 1921 voters approved additional state funds. San Quentin Prison set up three temporary prison camps to provide unskilled convict labor to help with road construction. One was set up by Little Sur River, one at Kirk Creek and a third was later established in the south at Anderson Creek. Inmates were paid 35 cents per day and had their prison sentences reduced in return. The route necessitated 33 bridges constructed, the largest of which was the Bixby Creek Bridge. Six more concrete arch bridges were built between Point Sur and Carmel, and all were listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.[11] After 18 years of construction, aided by New Deal funds during the Great Depression, the paved two-lane road was completed and opened on June 17, 1937.[12] The road was initially called the Carmel-San Simeon Highway (Route 56), but was better known as the Roosevelt Highway, honoring the current President Franklin D. Roosevelt. A 1921 law extended Route 56 south over the county road to Cambria.

Jennifer Jason Leigh

Jennifer Jason Leigh is an adorable, cute and pretty actress! Leigh was born on February 5, 1962 in Hollywood, California. She is the daughter of actor Vic Morrow and screenwriter Barbara Turner.[1] Leigh's birth name was Jennifer Leigh Morrow. She changed her surname early in her acting career, taking the middle name Jason in honor of actor Jason Robards, a family friend. Leigh's parents were Jewish, of Russian descent on her father's side.[2][3][4][5]

Leigh has an older sister, Carrie Ann Morrow, who was credited as a "technical advisor" in Georgia, and on whom Leigh's character Sadie Flood was reputedly based. Leigh also has a half-sister, actress Mina Badie, from her mother's marriage, who acted alongside Leigh in The Anniversary Party. The director Reza Badiyi was her mother's second husband and was at the time her stepfather.

Fast Times at Ridgemont High star Jennifer Jason Leigh is joining the cast of ABC’s Revenge, where she’ll play Emily’s (Emily VanCamp) presumed dead mother. The second season of Revenge premieres Wednesday, September 21st at 10 pm.This is interesting; however, if Stacy Hamilton is old enough to be Emily/Amanda's mom, then I MUST be getting old.Jennifer Jason Leigh, daughter of Vic Morrow--Blackboard Jungle, etc--to play Emily's mother on Revenge. Should be great. She only takes Outlaw parts.
